“The photo taken in the paddock near the Greenough River turnoff road which would be about 150 metres to the right with the highway just behind the rear runner. That area always flooded in winter and today is unrecognisable as is covered in trees. The course had two steep sand hills, two other hills on a grass surface, two water crossings, two fences to negotiate and plenty of fast running on flat grassed surfaces on land that carried sheep. Today the houses and roads of Cape Burney have obliterated what was probably the best cross country course i ever designed………..nostalgia”
