WritingGeraldton Harriers Club Member Memo
|Relay for Life Cake Stall – This Week|
|Relay for Life is a unique overnight fundraising event that brings communities together in the fight against cancer. The event raises vital funds for the Cancer Council to improve prevention, screening and treatment of cancer.|
|9 medical students from the University of Western Australia and Notre Dame University are currently undertaking a one year rural placement in Geraldton through the Rural Clinical School of Western Australia and have committed to Geraldton’s Relay for Life.
In an effort to raise as much as they can to support this great cause, the group shall be holding a second Cake Stall at the Harriers Club event this Sunday 30th August.
They will be selling a variety of baked goods including caramel slice, banana bread and blueberry muffins – and for those who prefer a (slightly) healthier option, carrot and pineapple cakes and Swedish fruit loaf cake. All perfect for undoing the good work of the preceding run or walk!
We all know someone special who has been touched by cancer, so please support cancer research by supporting this group’s fundraising efforts at Sunday’s event.
